JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary are a group of ladies with a passion for protecting and helping those who don’t have their own voice. We serve our township through the animals by vaccinating them, sterilizing them, educating the community on animals and also providing food, blankets and kennels to those who can’t afford it.
We have a weekly outreach which takes place on a Thursday at 2pm at the soccer stadium car park and then at 3pm it moves up to ocean view. The outreach involves some general check-ups, dipping, deworming, minor wound treatment and on the first Thursday of every month we do vaccinations. We are helped by an awesome team of volunteers and we welcome anyone that wants to get involved.
JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary have decided to start doing a monthly sterilization day where we sterilize animals in the township. January was our first one this year and we did 30 dogs which helps a lot because statistically speaking one female dog and her offspring can produce 67 000 puppies in six years, and in only seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 370 000 kittens. Nina’s Real Food sponsored the first sterilization day and the following month, Nina’s as well as Jeep Factory Shop sponsored the second one.
We’re challenging any businesses out there that want to get involved and sponsor a month.
There’s always a way to help out even if it’s not being completely hands on.
Donating to our charity shop is one way to do your bit.
